2022 closure under Sequel name

In May 2022, WAFF reported that Sequel TSI of Owens Cross Roads would close and that the same facility would reopen under a new name with new services. The station described the closure as occurring while an attorney prepared another lawsuit against the facility (WAFF).

APM Reports reported in 2022 that Sequel had shut down close to half of its treatment centers and sold most of the rest to Vivant Behavioral Healthcare after widespread scrutiny of abuse allegations across Sequel facilities (APM Reports).
