2023 Closure Plan

In October 2023, Montana Public Radio reported that Intermountain Residential in Helena had planned to close the following month, then said it would attempt to keep eight beds open after parents threatened to sue. The report described the facility as one of a small number of long-term residential treatment options serving very young children with serious behavioral-health needs.

Intermountain subsequently published a notice from its residential leadership team saying that the residential program was closing and that children then in the program would be transitioned to next placements.
