About
The Refuge Ranch is a Texas residential program for girls and young women recovering from sex trafficking and exploitation. Safe Harbor Ohio's biography of Brooke Crowder states that Crowder founded The Refuge for DMST, which built The Refuge Ranch as a long-term residential facility that opened in summer 2018 for girls ages 14 to 18 (Safe Harbor Ohio).
The same source states that The Refuge for DMST merged with Arms of Hope in August 2024 to create The Refuge Ranch as a ministry of Arms of Hope. The Texas Observer reported in 2024 on concerns from former residents and advocates about the ranch's care model and its work with trafficking survivors (Texas Observer).
