In a public survivor account on Reddit, a former participant said they attended 20 Peaks Ranch and Galena Ridge Wilderness Program from 2002 to 2004 and described the residential and wilderness components as closely affiliated. The account characterized the program structure as intensive and punitive and said participants attended Thompson Falls High School while living near Trout Creek.

A 2013 Change.org petition by a person writing about Mountain Meadow Youth Ranch described the program as a rehabilitation facility in Trout Creek and criticized its approach to adolescent substance-use and behavioral concerns. The petition is a firsthand advocacy source rather than an independent investigation.
