About
Meadowridge Academy is a therapeutic residential school in Swansea, Massachusetts, operated by Justice Resource Institute. JRI describes the program as serving youth and young adults with mental-health issues, behavioral difficulties, and complex trauma histories, using the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency model (JRI Meadowridge Academy).
The Massachusetts Disability Law Center described Meadowridge in 2018 as a private residential special education school approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and serving up to 36 students with significant mental-health issues, behavioral difficulties, and complex trauma histories. The center said it had found abuse, neglect, and improper-practice concerns from earlier school years, but also concluded that Meadowridge had effectively remedied those concerns by 2018 (Disability Law Center).
