2013 Anonymous campaign

In 2013, KSL and the Deseret News reported that the hacker and activist group Anonymous targeted Logan River Academy as part of a campaign alleging mistreatment at troubled-teen programs. The school denied abuse allegations in contemporary reporting (Deseret News, KSL).

Gerson litigation

In Gerson v. Logan River Academy, a former resident alleged that she was sexually abused at age 15 by an employee while at Logan River Academy. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described the allegations in a 2021 published opinion and affirmed dismissal on limitations and choice-of-law grounds (Justia).
