2015 federal audit

In April 2015, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General issued an audit titled Cedar Ridge Did Not Always Provide the Required Treatment and Therapy Hours for Residential Treatment and Acute Care. The audit reviewed Medicaid beneficiaries under age 18 from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013, and found that Cedar Ridge did not always provide or document the required weekly treatment and therapy hours.

The OIG estimated $522,571 in partial per diem recoupments and recommended that Cedar Ridge refund that amount to the state agency and establish stronger monitoring and documentation procedures. Cedar Ridge disagreed with the findings and recommendations in written comments; the OIG maintained that its findings and recommendations were valid.
