2004 Justice Department findings

In January 2004, the U.S. Department of Justice issued a findings letter after investigating conditions at Adobe Mountain School, Black Canyon School, and Catalina Mountain School under the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act. The findings letter concerned safety, treatment, education, and related conditions in Arizona's juvenile correctional facilities and led to a memorandum of agreement between the United States and Arizona (DOJ findings letter, memorandum of agreement).

2018 Office for Civil Rights review

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights issued a compliance review letter and resolution agreement for Adobe Mountain School. The review addressed the school's responsibilities under Section 504 and Title II, including evaluation, compensatory services, and civil-rights data collection procedures (OCR letter, OCR agreement).
